I would agree with no. 1 - as it is Harry Shapland Colt's best golf course he has designed. Hole for Hole it is probably the strongest golf course in the UK + Ireland. RCD is let down by its finish. Turnberry has too many weak holes to be the best in my view.

The biggest surprise for me is that GM voted Sunningdale's New above the Old.

Agreed Ben.

One of the first times this has occurred in these ranking lists. For me they are both very superior inland courses but as an all around experience the Old shades the New slightly.
