An architect I know spoke highly of this compact course , where Willie Park Jr designed some of the original holes.  Is anyone familiar ?

thanks !

Mark:  I just had a chat with Mel Lucas about Agawam, because he had me down there from New Bedford to see the work being done by Robert McNeil on a couple of holes.  This was several years ago and the changes included making a par three into a par four, then using the par three green for another three.  There had been several changes over the years on that side of the road due to road changes by the state.

Does this fit in with your inquiry ?

I am quite familiar with this course as it was my home course in high school golf.

The course is very "compact" however there are some great holes.  I do not know the pedigree (Park vs Ross) as it relates to the course design. There is definitely a need for a master plan renovation.

Adam: Contact Robert McNeil, and explain your thoughts.  This is what our site is all about !
