A line in the AP wire story about the new venue for the Grand Slam of Golf for the next few years (which can be seen at http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=3643232):

"[Port Royal Golf Club] was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and is considered the jewel in the island's golfing crown."

The island in question is Bermuda. So tell me...who, exactly, considers Port Royal to be the jewel in the crown ahead of Mid Ocean?  ???

Cheers,
Darren

I like Port Royal a lot. Quite a variety of holes and shots required there, good topography. Some weak par 4s and average par 3s but a couple real good par 3s like the 8th and the oceanside par 3 on the back. I'm very interested in the changes they are making. It has been many years since I played there and at the time it was quite over-treed.

Having said all that, in NO WAY does Port Royal exceed of or approach Mid Ocean.
