Excellent article inside as well.....Bryon received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star during his tour of duty in Iraq. A true hero amongst us.

I have not seen the article but i don't think you guys understand something.  Byron graduated from West Point, it is a privilege to serve our country.

That being said, how many times have you been to San Diego and why haven't you yet played Torrey Pines?

I haven't seen the Golf Week article yet but I do know that Bryon is very involved with helping disabled vets play golf in Washington state where he lives.  I am ashamed to report that I have not followed through with a plan to ship Bryon some of the (non-performing) clubs I have in my downstairs storage area.  I have to get on that.

Perhaps Bryon can post details on this thread about where to ship clubs you'd like to donate to his program.  It's a very worthy cause!

The mailman just came, so I'm looking forward to reading the article after watching some Ryder Cup (which I missed so far today)

Anyways, congrats to Bryon for all his service and on-going good deeds in behalf of the wounded and disabled vets.  It is really wonderful and a gift to have such a crossbreed of talents like golf and military service knowledge to design such an effective and relavant service to those people that really deserve our best efforts to give back to them.

I don't have the article but I assume it relates to Bryons' work with disabled vets. Money obviously works but they will also take old golf clubs. They can be sent to:

As I recall, Byron posted some time ago that they had enough clubs. . .

In any event, I look forward to reading the article about him (tho based upon my mail service, I still haven't received last week's Golfweek).

Byron please let us know if you need clubs I am happy (as would my wife) to clear out some clubs.

Mark my Golfweek's seem to also come later than many from the articles I see on GCA. Is it the US Postal service or Golfweek hard to tell. Sometimes I get two issues at a time

I appreciate the recognition that came from the article.  I think it is a really great piece that exemplifies the challenges that face the men and women that serve our country with greatness.  This issue is something that my friends and I will cherish for quite some time.  Thanks for all of the kind words.
