Ronald,

I don't know. I played there many times when I was coaching a prep school golf team because it is the home course of Berkshire School. People there couldn't be friendlier, so it might be worth a call.

Ron,

Make a day of Great Bear Golf & Country Club and Shawnee.

My first assistant superintendent job after college was at Great Bear G & CC. Its a Nicklaus Signature in Marshalls Creek, Pa.. A great layout in the mountains and only about ten minutes off of route 80. Then a few miles down the road is Shawnee, Tilly's first, in Delaware Water Gap. I think since Ive been living in the area they have transformed a local restaurant adjacent to the club into Sam Sneads restaurant with a bunch of Tilly and Snead memorabilia. Ive lived there for several years and personally those are the only two courses I would play in the Pocono's.

Isn't Great Bear now a private club?
