Don, may I ask  how maintanince practices very from the norm due to the low number of rounds.
Matthew,
There are advantages to a low number of rounds. The biggest, IMO, is we are on an agronomic calender vs a tournament or social calender.
Even on a daily basis, most courses need to mow early as that offers the most productive period, but we can mow later, when the turf is dry. Not only is the cut better, we don't have to fight clippings.
We'll probably close down for a week when we aerify, and we can always do our fert/chem applications in the PM when the turf is dry.
Bottom line, and maybe only a super can appreciate this, we are on the turf's schedule, not the golfers. That is a very rare thing, and it means we can do a whole lot more with less because we never have to worry about shotguns or tournaments.
On the flip side, I have no excuses, its perform...or not.
