Does anyone have any knowledge of this course which would have been located in or around Great Neck NY, perhaps in the vicinity of Fort Totten?  I am virtually certain it is NLE.  In Sept of 1921 Jock Hutchinson and Jim Barnes played a match there.  But more interesting to me is discovering that this one of if not the very first  club that P. G. Wodehouse belonged to when he took up the game in the early 1920s.

Barnes and Hutchinson played against one another on September 5 and then departed for the midwest to play matches against "the British stars Duncan and Mitchell." Intriguingly, Hutchinson and Barnes were to return to Long Island to play Duncan and Mitchell at a site very much still existing--Garden City.
Some days you play golf, some days you find things.

I'm not really registered, but I couldn't find a symbol for certifiable.

Doug Braunsdorf has IMed me to say this course is discussed in America's Linksland and he will have some information for me tomorrow.  Nevertheless I'm bumping this just in case someone with direct knowledge might see it.
