Kawana and Hirono
« on: August 22, 2007, 01:30:19 PM »
Can anyone help me find Kawana and Hirono on Google Earth or MSN Mapping? Does anyone have up-to-date yardages for either? I've managed to locate Philip Gawith's excellent photos of Kawana in the depths of GCA. Are there any, apart from old ones, of Hirono?

Mark,
Kawana is easy to find on Google Earth.  Just go to the Ito pennisula and scan the coastline for the only golf complex on the shoreline.  It is southwest of Tokyo.  Great place to relax for a gaijin living in Japan.

Hirono is much harder to find.  Infact I have not located it yet. It is near Kobe, which is west of Osaka.  If I get to my desktop I might be able to help, but later.

I have a yardage book for Kawana at home Mark but not there at present. When do you need the details by?

Hirono:

"Hirono Golf Course" lat=34.7682892506, lon=135.015977771

I've placemarked it, but not sure if you'll be able to see it if you're not a GE Community Member.

cheers,
FBD.

The White River runs dark through the heart of the Town,
Washed the people coal-black from the hole in the ground.
