I think this has been mentioned before, but this is quite a good account of golf, and the terrible weather Ireland has experienced this summer...

 Jack,

I think Tom has found his niche. His writing has clearly expressed his off-beat attitude about things. Did you connect with him ?

I tried to educate him about gca but he seems to like just about everything.

It took some guts to express his opinion on the North's different feel.

Hi Michael

No, I didn't. I have not been able to play much golf due to a baby and a hernia operation. I had thought about contacting him, though.

He seems to be going through the country at a fierce rate.

Maybe liking everything is the best way to be - you're never disappointed.

I look forward to seeing him when he returns and reading the book. I hope to glean something for my Sept. trip up to your neighborhood.

I played Baltray on an identical day and had a blast.  It was raining and blowing so much the scorecard disintegrated but we were playing a match so didn't need to keep score anyway.  Raining for 5-6 hours staright and conditions were still runinng fast and firm and no puddles to be seen.  Amazing.

Sounds like a fun book.

Jack,

If you would like to see how to post internet links that work, push the quote button on my previous post and look at the way this site allows you to do it. It is much like posting pictures, or using italics or using bold.
