The Best Excuse for a 7 Hole Course
« on: June 30, 2007, 07:44:21 PM »
With Buffalo grass from tee to green, this par 26 layout in Potter Nebraska has to have the best justification for only being seven holes in length.

Can you guess what that is?

The greens run at a smooth 1.2 on the Stimp.

Because that would be an even $1 per hole to ride?

Ah, Adam, very nice - 4 dollars for seven holes. The people of Potter can grab a hotdog and a soda pop and play a round of golf all within their lunch hour, and for under 10 dollars. That's still golf, right? (Answer: yes, yes indeed.) Why does it have only 7 holes? Maybe THAT'S why.

As to an actual guess, boy: is it the original 'sheep ranch' (or cow or-horse ranch) and the 7 holes were the only ones they could fit in between the fences?

Peter, you are so close.

The reason the course is seven holes....

They can't spend more time than that, away from the bar.

Cheers
