Andy;

Sorry to see you went to Lexington's lesser courses. Old Silo. Houston Oaks, and on Tu & Th UK's Big Blue are best in the area.

Of course, if you want quality, go to Eastern KY and play Hidden Cove, Eagle Ridge {WOW!], and Stonecest. THEN tell me what in Indiana is better?!

Doug,
I'd like to take you up on those courses. In the meantime, I e-mailed a few pictures of mountain courses I've seen that you'd probably enjoy as well. A couple are in Tennessee so you may have seen them.

I think on later trips they did get to Old Silo and Houston Oaks. I think Old Silo eventually has become their favorite. I actually liked GC of the Bluegrass the best, but I shot 71 there and then when we played a 9 hole scramble afterwards my team was 8 under in 9 holes in a threesome to win again :-)  That was a fun day.

Dick smoked us out (even if Jeff Shelman doesn't want anyone to know about the Twin Cities.)

Within a 40-minute drive from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport, you can play some excellent public courses: Rush Creek (Fought/Cupp), The Wilds (Weiskopf/Moorish), Chaska Town Course (Arthur Hills), StoneRidge (Bobby Weed), Edinburgh (Trent Jones, Jr.), The Legends (Gill Miller), plus two old classics -- University (Tom Vardon) and Keller (host to the 1932 and 1954 PGA championships, plus many annual PGA and LPGA tour events into the '70s).

A quick thank you to everyone who chimed in here - your advice and suggestions were much appreciated. At the moment the core decision-makers in our group are leaning toward Indianapolis or Denver - could go either way. (Sounds like an AFC matchup...) :)

Cheers,
Darren
