Has anyone played this course or can tell me anything about it? I am playing a tournament there Monday and have never seen the property. On the plus side they do have a decent website to check out.

Thanks

Sam,

I have played it a few times.  Its in a big flood zone, so the fairways are raised several feet for flood protection, which makes for some tough shots.  Misses bound way off the fw.
Other than that, pretty standard RTJII fare with some nice holes.

Thanks Jeff! Viewing their website it looks like a pretty good track and there seems to be a premium on getting the ball in play. Now's it just a matter of getting myself geared up for that drive in Monday morning traffic.

I've played it 4 or 5 times.  It has a difficult start as many of the first 6 or 7 holes play through a corridor of trees and require a straight tee ball.  When the course first opened they had done very little clearing of vegetation in the woods, and just missing the fairway either meant your ball was lost or you had to pitch out sideways.  They have since cleared much of this out and cut away lower tree branches.  It's still tough, but you can advance your ball a little better now.

You should be catching the course at the right time, as they are one of the few public courses in the area that have stayed with bent greens.  In the spring and early summer they usually do a great job in maintaining them.  Later in the summer it's just too difficult.

The course doesn't get a ton of props here in the area, but I think it has several interesting holes (and a few poor ones) and is in the top 10 public courses (towards the bottom) in the immediate DFW area.
