Is that early for the gorse, John?  It's out in Scotland already, too, which is 2-3 months earlier than it used to be 25 years ago.

I have no idea, to be honest.  My father was there over the weekend and took that picture.  

Perhaps someone like Tom Jefferson could comment if its an early bloom or not.

Gorse pretty much blooms the whole year round, with a bit of a peak in late Springiness....

I don't think it's early. Seems like it was out when we visited Bandon in late January/early February in years past.

My experience is that the gorse blooms from January through May in Bandon.  I was surprised by this since on most of the UK courses it's only in flower for about six weeks ... but the milder the weather along the coast, the longer it will stay in bloom.

Is there anything anywhere more beautiful than that steep cliff behind the clubhouse at Crail when the gorse is in full bloom?

 8)  I wish I could find my photos.  It is just spectacular.

Couldn't find but here's a nice photo of the 14th, downhill par 3, with a bit of gorse visible!
