This website is continually the single WORST performing site of any that I access on the big interweb thing. Access is patchy, reply times pathetic. I have lost many a post to duff-ness. One early this evening even actually had some relatively intellectual content..

Come on, you sluggardly Ozzies, you're letting the side down.

Get some bandwidth or get off the pot...

Martin, one way to never lose your posts: write them in a word processing program, then paste here.  More cumbersome, and I don't do it myself, but also nearly 100% foolproof.

Martin, sorry to hear of your problem with posting, though I do have a question for you.

You said that, "One early this evening even actually had some relatively intellectual content..."

I for one would love to see that, if only to see who you would have been quoting...  :o

Philip, it was probably when you and Tom Paul were duking it out.

Eckeckeck, Mr. Young ;D,
I would love to have been quoting from what would be a most splendid tome: 'A history of the development of Kingsbarns Golf Links'. Rather unfortunately, it appears not to have been written - as yet. ??? ;)

Martin, not only has it been written, it has been completely edited, and laid out. There are over 120 color photographs and an additional 60+ graphic images...

It is waiting for the publisher to finish a few minor details... I am waiting anxiously for it as well...

I posted about a month ago that I often have trouble accessing the site, but no one else (or not many folks) posted that they had the same trouble.

Philip,
great news indeed. I hope to purchase a signed copy as soon as...

Kevin,
guess that might have been one of those 'lost' posts too... ;D

Martin,
As Ran alluded to several months ago, we are taking steps to address these concerns.

Given that there are 750 pages of content - and many more  in the discussion group - I am sure you can imagine what a huge undertaking it is. Both financially and in the sheer amount of time it takes.

We look forward to these changes taking place in the coming months.

Isn't that justification enough to kindly request keeping things, for the most part, on topic?

Ben,
thanks for the explanation.

My apologies really. I was venting as I had just typed a pretty long post for the Pacific Grove thread. A course I loved and played with Stan on our visit over there. I wanted, nay, needed to add some thoughts. For once, I even actually had some valuable comments to add! :)

I hit the 'Post' button and, like the perfect Golden Ferret, the thing vanished before my very eyes. Annoyance ensued.

However, the dummy is now firmly back in the pram!

cheers,
FBD.
