Sean

You are entitled to your (hopelessly flawed) golfing opinion, but I can't let you get away with that cheap shot on Dornoch cuisine!

2 Quail and Luigi's are superb dining venues, with excellent plonk and the supporting cast of hotels/restaurants are solid, if not strong (much like most of the holes on Nolrth Berwick!). ;)

Rich

PS--Duck a L'Orange hasn't been served in Dornoch since Neil Currie sold the Bughfield in 1997.  His version was pedestrain, but the Duck and Orange Consomme that came on the menu the next day was to die for.......

PPS--if you know where and when to go, the nightlife in Dornoch is also vaut le detour.

I was always particularly fond of Laurel Valley in Ligonier, PA.  Certainly played many , more dramatic, courses but truly enjoy the experience and golf at Laurel Valley.

Others warrnating consideration:

Kiawah Ocean
Cabo del Sol Ocean
Pinehurst #2
Harbour Town GL

Strangely not in consideration:

Mid Ocean (Can't put my finger on it but was somewhat underwhlemed by Mid Ocean... actually prefer Port Royal when in Bermuda... even with a couple of quirky at best holes)

If I could only play one more round of golf in my life...

I'd probably play the seventeenth hole at Cypress Point eighteen times and call it a life well lived.
