Looks like that if I die this year it won't be from...
« on: August 11, 2006, 01:33:45 PM »
thyroid cancer.  My recent trip to Mayo resulted in near perfect results.  I think my doctor played overseas if he ever played at all as he said my tumor was golf ball sized...didn't look any bigger than a ping pong ball to me.

I'm kinda excited to begin playing again on the Beta Blockers I can legally remain taking for the next 30 days (I say legally because I have a potential 12 refills)...Anybody have any experiences..

God I love everything about Minnesota and look forward to my continuing appointments every August until I have a permanent Nicklaus head cock forced on by a volleyball sized goiter...by then I might opt for surgery.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and concerns (Yeah I know I used up all my pity points and return to double secret probation)

I am so relieved to hear this news as otherwise I might never have my Hillbilly Tour status reinstated. I thought you said we were meeting on the 10th?

Good news John -- I was afraid your silence was due to expulsion. Any good golf in Rochester?

You'll have to break out the old Seinfeld Goiter episode -- I love the nicklaus head cock visual.

John,

Good to hear that things went well.  I was concerned that our last "discussion" was left at an unresolved point and if you'd died I'd always wonder how it would have ended.

Now, you can go back to pissing me off.  ;)

Seriously, I'm relieved to hear your news, John.

Where do goiters come from? any don't say asphalt!
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

John-

Glad to hear all's well. I love Minnesota, too. It's a great place. I lived there as a kid and my roots there run deep. Always a Vikes/Twins fan.

Thanks for all the nice things people said and thought about me..Remember there is the possibility that I did have cancer as my first biopsy may have indicated and your prayers made it go away....It could be that miracle redanman recently said has never seen.

JK - great news - I must say in my continued out of the loop status, well... your last post was "I'm going to get cut on" and then nothing for a week or so... the imagination did run wild and not in a good way.

There are certainly worse things than visiting MN each year.

 ;D ;D

John,

Mazel tov.

My wife also had surgery earlier this week and also had the best possible outcome (a complete clean bill of health) so maybe there is some good karma on GCA right now.

Wait, I think I see flying pigs outside my window ... ;)

JakaB -

That is fabulous news ... and I thought your silence was due to you coming to California to grab some of the gold in our highway projects ...

Next round is on me ...

Good news John, glad it has all worked out so well.

Did you get to hit the sticks along the way there or back?  Do tell!
