Riverside Golf and Country Club, the only private course in New Brunswick, opened in 1897. It was redesigned and lengthened by Donald Ross in 1931. It is the only course east of Montreal that has hosted the Canadian Open. That was in 1939 and was won by Jugs McSpaden. It has hosted the Canadian Men's and Women's Amateur Championships several times. Presently under the guidance of architect Ron Prichard  the course is being restored to the  playing character that Donald Ross intended. I will attempt to update the progress as it occurs.
Here is an aerial tour of the course as it is today:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=6&v=hgHHYfJik_0

The course is 6,344 yds in length and is a Par 72. Since the video does not list the length of each hole here are the details.
Holes #1- 397yds Par 4, #2. 457yds Par 5, #3- 287yds Par 4, #4- 483yds Par 5, #5-165yds Par 3, #6- 361 yds Par 4, #7- 421 yds Par 4, #8- 144 Par 3, #9- 435 yds Par 4. #10- 204 yds Par 3, #11- 382 yds Par 4, #12- 510 yds Par 5, #13- 337 yds Par 4, #14- 495 yds Par 5, #15- 342 yds Par 4, #16- 340 yds Par 4, #17- 383 Par 4, #18-  204 yds Par 3.

Thompson golf holes were created to look as if they had always been there and were always meant to be there.

According to the Club website, the restoration is 1/4 completed. My love for this course goes back to the age of 12 when I started as a caddy there and worked at that until I was 16. It was $1.75 -$2.00 for 18 holes and $1.25 for 9.

Cool stuff Don...I always follow NB golf as we have a family house in Northern Maine.  Looks like Riverside is about 2.5hrs from us.

I like how the youtube page says "finest private course in New Brunswick" when it's the only one!  After seeing the flyovers, looks "finest" to me!
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

Don,

Thanks for posting this, I played in the Canadian Junior at Riverside back in 1995 as a member of team Manitoba and have fond memories of the course.

Here is a blog from the Course's website on the restoration of the most historic course in Atlantic Canada in terms of national events.

And a little bit of background on the architect hired to do the restoration of the course, Ron Prichard,  who is well known to many on this site.
