Bulle Rock
« on: March 28, 2006, 12:38:51 PM »
I had plans to play Bulle Rock on Sat.
I just found out that they recently punched the greens :(
Is there anywhere else in that area worth an hour and a half drive for me (from Philly) and my buddy (from DC)?

Thanks,
Ted

Ted,

I'll second the Beechtree praise. It's a mile down the road from Bulle Rock.

Ted,

I think you'll enjoy Beechtree.  It is an excellent design.  Fun and challenging.  I am very fond of the course.  And you'll save yourself a lot of money!

Ted,

Concur.

Although Bulle Rock is a fine course, on the "fun meter" I'd play Beechtree about 6 to 4, or even 7 to 3 over it.

Beechtree, 8 out of 10 times, 10 if you include the price difference.

Looks like Beachtree might not work either.
Can't get out early enough for my buddy.
Any other recomendations?

Thanks,
Ted

Try Mountain Branch, it is not as good as Beechtree or Bulle Rock, but still a good course.  It is not far from Beechtree, very close to 95.

I heard good stuff about Mountain Branch as well.  When I was down I played Wyncote in PA.  Again, it is not close to Beechtree, but does have some good holes (I liked 2, 9, 13, and 18).
