Woodhall Revival
« on: March 17, 2006, 05:59:26 PM »
I have just had the word that Woodhall Spa has started a program of cutting back trees and clearing out some undergrowth.  The idea is similar to the program Holinwell started a few years ago and I think should be nearing its final stages.  Woodhall, like Notts, wants heather to grow back where it was allowed to be swalled up by the growth of birches etc.  The program at Notts has been extremely successful and it would seem that Woodhall will enjoy some of the same.

Now I have to hit the hay.  Its up tomorrow at 4:45 for a game at North Wales followed by a game at Conwy on Sunday.  The weather promises to be downright inhospitable.  It has been a cold March and I fully expect this weekend to be more of the same.

Ciao

If I hadn't fired 5 tee shots into the woods (and in effect depended on my 2nd hits) I would have played to my handicap. But if I had played that well I would have found another way to screw up.  The fun at Woodhall comes ftom avoiding the bunkers and recovering from the Heather.

I think it's one of the most influential courses over here and this can only be a good thing.

Let's make GCA grate again!
