Chris Parker

Aerial of the Week 5

As is inevitable during any gathering of Toronto-area GCAers, the name Stanley Thompson was mentioned frequently and reverently on Friday night.  So I thought it was only appropriate to post one of Thompson's courses this week.  Good luck!

I'm pretty sure it is not in the US. That leaves So. America. Chris, what is this thing you have about So. America?

I'm trying to be geographically diverse.  That's one of the suggestions I received when I started up this series of threads.  

I was originally going to do a different course this week, but I thought the timing was good for a Thompson.  

What makes you so sure it's South America?  Don't be too hasty...

It doesn't sound like it's in great condition.  From a course review/article in the Globe and Mail written by Brian Kendall:

Built in the classic style, with tight fairways and greens open at the front, this course climbs into the foothills of the nearby Mountains. Though sadly threadbare in spots, Thompson's 6,196-yard layout presents a challenge at every turn.
