Golf theme drapes and wall coverings
« on: December 09, 2005, 09:24:51 AM »
I am getting new drapes for my study at home and only seem to be shown the old Tom Morris type themed. Does anyone know a manufactor that has a good variety of fabrics and themes?

If my memory serves, didn't this thread first appear about four years ago?  This must be the longest-running construction job in history.

Check with the special order departments at Home Depot and Lowes.  I've seen some golf motiffs there.  A golf-crazed friend of mine did a couple of rooms in that style.  I personally liked the bordering or edging with golfing guys, surrounding slightly patterned wall coverings with golfing colors (burgundy, various green shades).

Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee also built a golf house which it featured in Golf or Golf Digest.  It has drapes and floor and wall coverings which might be of interest.  They'd likely lead you in the right direction.

Tiger

If I were you I'd just gather together all the golf towels you must have collected in your travels around the world and get whoever is your current lady friend to dust off her Singer..........

Tiger:

Check out Pierre Frey, they have a  golf print that I always liked.

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

I suggest white drapes with a silhouetted bovine head placed strategically throughout, preferrably in burnt orange.

I got this idea from Sally Brown, whose husband was just named Coach of the Year by Rivals.com.

Yes Lou,This is a long project. lol Rich I guess golf towels have a certain style to them but I am trying for a nicer fabric than industrial strength cotton towels. Thank you Cary. Andy, It is good to be a Horn these days. I hope all is well as you make your way to the Rose Bowl. I could never and I mean never vote for Mack to be coach of the anything. That is why I think the Heisman should go to Vince, hands down. He had to overcome his coach.

JB, I am still pissed off about LAST year's Rose Bowl, let alone this year's.

At the risk of being a straight guy with a queer eye, here is a site to help you with your den makeover.  My wife is rolling her eyes at me tonight for spending so much time with my golf design internet pals.  If she knew I was helping you pick our fabric John, well... ::)

In the search box, type in golf...then pick on various patterns for a blow up up up, I say.

Actually, her first degree was in H.E. textiles, and interior design.  If I told her about you, how would I put it?  My friend Tiger and I were picking out fabric this evening, and... ::)
