Article on Golf in Northern Ireland (calling Tom Huckaby)
« on: October 13, 2005, 04:19:16 PM »
The new (October 14) issue of GolfWorld has an article on golf & travel in Northern Ireland and across the border into the Republic. There is even a very nice photo of Tom H.'s beloved Castlerock GC, which possibly will make up for the same issue's description of Harding Park as "resplendent."     ;)

Aw shucks, I can live with calling Harding resplendent.  It is nice to look at.  But especially if the rag features my cousin's home Castlerock.

Thanks for the tip.  I'm definitely going to find a print version of the new Golfworld.

Tom H. -

While you may be able handle Harding as "resplendent,"  you may choke on Jaime Diaz's paean to Harding on page 52.

If you cannot find a copy of the mag, IM your address and I can send you a copy of the NI/Castlerock golf article.

David - thanks for the offer.

As for Mr. Diaz, he's a shill for PGA Tour.  What do you expect?

 ;) ;)

It's all a vast PGA Tour conspiracy!

Hillary C. almost got it right!

Eureka - his eyes are opened!

You know David, all this talk, the tourney last week, all the media, has made me want to go play Harding again, just to see if perhaps - only perhaps mind you - I am all wet in my negative take about the course.  I have to admit that before the tournament I had zero desire to play it again.  I don't know when or if this will actually occur, but I certainly do want to play it again.

My wife is not allowed to see this.  Admit one might be wrong in one place and that's the inch she'll stretch to a lightyear for sure.

In any case, there is hope.  ;D

Tom -

If and when the earth shifts off its axis and a desire to play Harding manifests itself from within your shrieking soul, I hope you will get in touch. I would be delighted to join you!
