I think most of the superintendents in the area are pleased to see these rains.  I just hope there won't be too much!  It has been drench or drought in these parts this year.

My youngest son is a Red Sox fan, I think he's now rooting for the White Sox to face the Cardinals in the World Series.

I drove by French Creek, and the creek itself is WAY out of its banks - in fact, #4 tee is underwater, and the entire wetlands area between #9 tee and the fairway is like a river.

It's actually pretty cool, especially since the rain rate has slowed...

Speaking of rain - French Creek rec'd 10.25 inches of rain.  No news on any damage reports (I think we'll be OK) - but there will certainly need to be some cleanup.

How did other courses fare during TS Tammy and the stalled cold front?

Great game by the Nittany Lions.  Kyle, I'm sure you couldn't wait to open up the Inquirer sports section this morning with your scrapple and eggs.  That was one of the best defensive games I can recall.  Lots of speed and excellent tackling.  Today's youth probably thought the game boring.  Anything but!

Steve,

We had a bit more on this side of the Schuykill.  I heard Lancaster had an amazing 12.5 inches of rain yesterday.  Scheduled to play there yesterday, I hope they aren't too badly flooded, though they often are with far less rain.  

Rolling Green's topography allows the course to drain pretty well.  I may go over a little later and see what's what.  Given that the course was slowly recovering from a horrid season, I hope the damage isn't too severe.

Difference between this year's team and last year's is that 4th and 15... we would have NEVER converted that last year. That and last year's offense would never climb back into a game they gave up in the first half.

Thanks for hanging 51 on Wisky yesterday too, made us look real good.

Like everyone else in Philly, we had a TON of rain at White Manor.

However, we were OPEN this morning and I got in 18 before 12 oclock ;D

Course was a little wet, but it drained very very well, kudos to super Super Don Brown.  

I would guess we were one of only a handful of courses in philly open today.

   Rolling Green was open today.  I don't think that the rain we received yesterday was that much more than what we've been doing to ourselves over the past six weeks.

I played Pine Hill yesterday and today in the rain.
Yesterday I was the only person on the course all day and today I was one of very few.

A good pair of Gortex pants and jacket or wool sweater along with those rain gloves makes a little rain a complete non-issue for me.

I really enjoyed playing this weekend. The course was incredibly peaceful and quiet. Sometimes I feel closer to nature when it is raining, and considering the fact that I spend M-F cooped up in an office, I really like that feeling.
