All you have to do is watch BBC Open Championship coverage for an hour and you'll realize how dreadful the coverage here is for the most part.

I bet the PGA Tour is thrilled that Strange commented that they turned the initial Casey Martin cart decision into a public relations nightmare.

Is he wrong?

on the flip side, I actually azinger is pretty good

I don't know Mark...by the end of coverage it looked like he'd made a few trips to the beverage cart and was a little out of it.

Did anybody catch the buffoon doing the streaming coverage of the Tiger,Phil, Bubba group?  He makes Strange and Berman sound like Henry Longhurst...

Yes, brutal.

Given my "record" collection consists of mainly punk, new wave (well "new" circa early 1980's) and assorted britpop and guitar thrash offerings, what would anyone recommend I listen to as Jim Furyk backs off his putt for the umpteenth time before he at long last hits it.

Where Is My Mind? by the Pixies should fit the bill.

The streaming guy was indeed brutal, but no one is as brutal as Berman, he is in a class by himself.

Sterling commentary from the online bunch just now:

"The only two par 5's coming up at 16 & 17"...  "That's a long time till you reach a par 5"..."15 holes till you reach a par 5"...

I'm still checking the math on that one.

This right after they were discussing circadian rhythms and how it affected an early/late schedule vs. late/early.   ugh.

... Or better yet, mute and put on Pink Floyd - it works surprisingly well.

Actually, if you drop the needle in the 1st groove of Dark Side of the Moon just as Tiger completes his second practice swing on the fist tee, it all syncs up perfectly.

I'm serious, maaan.

Berman is dreadful. Way out of touch with reality.

I have Slayer on in the background and it is AWESOME.

I've always thought Berman "works" when it comes to football and the like, even if he is abysmal for golf.

But no doubt, guy seems to be a world class db as shown in this clip....

I did not see the telecast yesterday, but have turned it on tonight.  Berman and Strange are perfect for the Bubba, beer, you-da-man and in-the-hole crowd.  I see this as the future of golf on TV.

Berman is perfect for the top 10 list on Sportscenter.  Unfortunately he thinks play-by-play at the U.S. Open should be done with the same exact delivery.  Image this guy calling the play-by-play of lovemaking with his wife.  Oops, my breakfast burrito just came back up for a surprise visit....
