Prestwick v. Turnberry - history, weather and the fact this 5 handicap has shot 95 and 102 on his two visits to Prestwick versus a pair of 76s on Turnberry despite fairly breezely conditions and a balky putter that left me feeling a bit underchallenged
Jubilee v. Kingsbarns - sheer fun and playing with locals who have a sense of the game that just doesn't exist in the states versus a course that wouldn't be out of place in California in terms of either the amenities, the "holes built in valleys" look or the many Californians you are likely to meet on the course
Tralee v. Waterville - Irish golf in its purest and rawest form versus a course that while quite good, doesn't rise to the level of its praise and leaves me feeling unfulfilled
Thinking about my choices, isn't the "x v. y" a good way of saying, "I like x for reasons I may or may not be able to defend, and I think y is overrated?" or I am working too hard coming up with examples I can feel good enough about to hit the Post button?
Now I'll just wait and see if someone is going to put down "Sand Hills v. Pine Valley"
