Mike Keiser at Pebble
« on: February 09, 2005, 10:12:08 PM »
I see Mr. Keiser's playing in the pro-am this year. Was he there last year?

He's paired with Brendan Jones and they're off Pebble's #10 at 9:40.

Maybe he is there to buy it and rename it "Pebble Dunes." ;)

Or - Pacific Beach
Or - Bandon Beach
Or - Pebble Trails

Or - okay, okay...

...I'll stop.

Adam,

Could he be worried about the current relationship between his "Pebbles" and the "Bam Bam" drivers of today?

If so, he could rename it "Flintstone" or some such.....

Being wealthy or serious corp position has more to do with the pro am than owning a golf course.

Tiger,

That never crossed my mind! ;)

Maybe Mike is noodling over a new line of greeting cards....

Pebble has greens,
The Pacific is Blue....

Fill in the rest yourself..... ;D

I guess that win at the Renaissance Cup has gone to his head!

Seriously, however, Pebble Beach has always been one of Mike's favorite places, so I'm not surprised he would choose to play there.

He is very deserving of a spot in the AT&T.   half the guys in the pro-am have no idea of what Keiser has accomplished.

I hope he wasn't using one of those over priced, arrogant caddies.

Keiser is one of the few people in this years field that Bing Crosby would have invited.  Aside from his business success, he is a real gentleman plus he has made a huge contribution to golf, two things that Bing would have been proud of.

Nice shot there Joel. I wish I had thought of that.

Well, Since Mike originally asked one of those caddies to be his head-pro at Bandon Dunes, I don't think he thinks they're arrogant. And I'll bet he pays better than most.

Since he;s paired with a guy I have never heard of, I'd say this was his first year. But that's pure spec.

The best thing that could happen is for Mike Keiser to buy PBGL®.
I wish Keiser would just spend $2 million to buy into the partnership.  He then might have some influence to fire Fazio for the Forest Course and hire someone more appropriate.

Keiser team shot 66 yesterday in the 1st round.  They are not out of it but will have to light it up to make the cut.

Forget Mike Keiser, Golfweek's own star rater Josh Lesnik and partner Brian Davis are in the top 15!  They shot a 63 yesterday.

On the darker side, once again David Duval is 35-40 strokes back, in last place and losing straight up to the majority of the celebrity amateurs.

Mike Keiser and his pro partner shot 66-70-69 which missed the cut by 10 shots.  I did notice that golfweb.com listed every amateur and their occupation listed Mike as owner of Bandon Dunes and not as the CEO of Recycled Greetings.
