Neil:

Is that my golf bag in the picture of #9 Maidstone?

If so, where am I?

Let me guess - left scrub.

Yes, that is one of the greatest holes in the world.

Whenever we try to pick the best #1 hole, best #2 hole, etc. in the world #9 at Maidstone is always our pick.

Downwind, which is prevailing southwest,  it makes one think twice before trying to lace one up the right side since that large dune on the straight left is your final resting place should your mission fail. I usually hit  3 iron.

Into the wind, which is usually northeast,  that right greenside blowout beckons with even the slightest mishit.

On a happier note, during the summer months, the beach to the right is the site where some of the most stunning women in the world sunbathe in the nude. :o

Probably the main reason why Tom Paul picks this as his very favorite. :D

Gene:

Not the main reason but I've certainly been aware of it for years. The best tees in the world I know of for that kind of thing is Maidstone's #9, #15 and Seminole's #14.
