If your club drops the long-standing "no jeans' rule you can be assured they have over-invested in F&B.

Its all about the cart girls
"Golf is happiness. It's intoxication w/o the hangover; stimulation w/o the pills. It's price is high yet its rewards are richer. Some say its a boys pastime but it builds men. It cleanses the mind/rejuvenates the body. It is these things and many more for those of us who truly love it." M.Norman

let's be honest here, anyone under 30 joining a club has generational wealth.

A majority of Gen z is going to champion better public golf.

We are going to see a growth in unaffiliated clubs with different mandates to meet the communities they serve.

All of this means a generation that feels more at home and welcome at the golf course than mine ever was.

The private club is only going to become more and more elite.

And chicks dig the long ball.

I don’t have a clue about cohort ages let alone their cohort defining characteristics. What I will say is Baby Boomers should keep silent in these matters. Just blend into the background and hope nobody spots you.

Getting back to golf, I wonder if the term "rub o' the green" will die before I do.
FYI, Rub of the Green was removed from the Rules of Golf starting in 2019.
