I love Tom Petty's music.  And my wife went to school with his wife!  We did go to a concert -- at Red Rocks, it was awesome -- but I never got to meet him.

Oh, yes.
Heard/saw American Girl over here sometime around 76/77 and just LOVED it. Started following him, buying albums, posters, t-shirts, etc.
What a career. Years of fabulous stuff, great collaborations.
Gone seven years already. Very sadly missed.

The 2024 Apple TV series called Bad Monkey (based on book by Hiaasen) featured soundtrack of Petty covers, with permission from Petty estate.  Available on Spotify.  Good stuff.  25 or 30 songs.
