For architecture that the cut at Colonial will be higher than the cut at Valhalla? And I am in the camp that pros are a terrible basis for evaluating architecture.

Yes (especially #2) but also
4. that the length of courses has very little to do with scoring because even Valhalla is short for these guys
5. Trees and doglegs and hazards mean more than length

Colonial isn’t exactly short. It’s 7,289 yards at par 70. Valhalla daily setup was around 7,500 yards at par 71. Not very different.

I stand corrected.  I guess they found some more length in their recent restoration, which I haven’t seen much about.  At one point it had gotten to being one of the shortest courses on Tour - one reason Annika decided that was her best shot at playing vs the men.
