Is it selective memory or is Jim Nance losing his touch?

Blasphemy and won't get you invited to take a shot at his par 3 in his back yard at Pebble Beach. Also Nantz. ;D

That's right Nance is Larry, and Larry Jr.

Banal comments, stating the obvious, flashback drift. What does he really add anymore to broadcast analysis and current commentary?

Perhaps a self reflective observation of a man your age.

The iPhone and iPad Masters 2023 apps were simply spectacular.

That is all.

Correct. Watching The Masters on network TV isn't the best way to watch it.

While that may be true what % of their audience/ target demographic watch it on network TV?

If the PGA Tour went LIV and went to YouTube how much viewership do you think they'd lose?  I'd bet somewhere north of 2/3rds

I don't mean to suggest that viewing the Masters via web/app should be the only option - only that the online version is far better presented than what you get on Network TV (and Network TV is several levels above weekly TOUR broadcasts).

Is it possible CBS doesn't want to pay for that much air time?  Or they are trying to give their junior partner [whichever network it is that televises the earlier days and earlier time] a piece of the pie?
I think CBS now owns any footage they shoot since streaming began....may be wrong and I don't understand the whole system but I know it makes it easier for them to sell to streamers etc but they do pay ANGC for the rights that no one else has...

Augusta National, Inc., owns the footage. CBS gets to use it as part of their rights deal. (It's the same with all sports these days.)

I think many of these comments are overblown and unfair.  The bottom-line fact is that ratings for the Masters hit a recent high, and were up 19% from a year ago.   It was a terrific tournament--and ESPN and CBS did a great job!

Is anyone in the media giving the LIV credit for the rise?

No, no one but assholes are making that claim.
