Tom, were you to make the jaunt stateside, what courses would you want to play and what story could you see Cookie Jar Golf telling?
I was particularly enthralled by CJG's Netherlands series, as I had absolutely no knowledge these coures existed nor the connections of most to U.K. golf given the work Harry Colt had done there. They are amazing courses whose rich histories you eloquently brought to light. Hopefully, their stories are compelling enough that others will explore them intimately and give them their due.
That said, there's an even stronger U.K golf connection to the U.S. given all the legendary golden age architects that heralded from Britain who setup shop here and flourished. How would you even begin to tell that story given how golf literally blew up in the span of a few short decades across large swaths of the country? Despite this, there are stories yearning be told and perhaps requiring multiple trips to do them justice. However, there is no one currently in the golf vlogging space with the talent and capability you and Cookie Jar Golf have to unearth them. You're equally romantics as you are historians of the game, which makes you uniquely qualified for the task.
if money is the primary obstacle I'd highly suggest starting a Go Fund Me campaign to scrape up the dollars needed to make the trip across the pond and back feasible. There are those here on GCA that can help with access and accommodations, if needed. I'm not one of them, unless you're planning to come to Michigan to incorporate courses here as part of a broader story. LOL! I'll be happy to contribute financially, as I'm sure will others, but the story of the origins of golf in America is yearning to be told and it fits perfectly in CJG's wheelhouse. I hope to see it documented by you one day.
