Sorry about the thread but I can’t do it. Thank you.

Photobucket has made it really hard to post, and probably the others as well!  Not sure how to post through my google photo cloud storage

Use an image hosting site such as Flickr or Imgur and upload your photos to there.  Once the images are uploaded to a hosting site you can right click the image and select "copy image address." With the image address copied, click insert image while composing a post on here and paste that link right there.

 8)  It used to all be about the "url"

the insert hyper link doesn't seem to work for me, i have to paste the url and bracketed  img  and /img all together, don't seem to be able to edit a post to include...

Hey Tony,

Here are some steps:

Step 1: Paste the image link in your reply.  For this example we'll use this: https://joanndost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/PB-H18-010512-1-0126.jpg

Step 2:  put img in front and /img behind it, like this:  img https://joanndost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/PB-H18-010512-1-0126.jpg /img

Step 3:  Put braces around each img [, and then this ]

Step 4:  Post the message and you'll see the photo.

Walton Heath Golf Club (New) - England | Top 100 Golf Courses

Anthony - I did what Kalen said. I even just used an image from the internet (just 'copied the image address') and then bookended that address with the bracketed img at the front and the bracketed /img at the back....and it worked!!

Thanks, K.

Anthony,

Give it six months before you start posting pictures. You've got interesting stuff to say and that is enough.

Perhaps the best evidence of how limited is the number of people who care about golf course architecture is the fact that the "leading" site which helped vault Ran to Golf Week and now GM lives technogically in a Century that ended more than 20 years ago.

PS Pretty sure that Kalen could address the problems in an evening if he had access to the code...unless it is obsolete.

I have a great overhead drone photo from Linksgerms of Kavanaugh’s Kidney the signature bunker at Victoria National that I want to post on the signature bunker thread. The creek beside the bunker looks like a urethra.

The functionality already exists to attach images to a post when you reply to a message.  Looks like it just needs to point to a configured storage location, and then turned on.  GCA could buy 2 terabytes for $100/year on Google Drive and doubt we'd ever get anywhere near using all of it.

Doing some basic math: 1 TB is 1 Billion KB and your average quality jpeg can be stored at 100KB each. So with 2 TB, that means we'd have enough space for about 20 million photos.  Even if they were all higher quality at 1 MB each, that would still allow for 2 million photos.  So yea that would probably be enough storage space for this site. ;D
