Scottish GCAers
« on: July 22, 2021, 08:34:33 AM »
I'll be in Fife from this Saturday 24 July for three weeks, if anyone fancies a game at Elie, Crail or elsewhere in the Kingdom.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Hi Mark

I’m up in St Andrews already and here until 1 August.  I just saw your message about Forfar and would have loved to have been able to join you and Niall but I have to head back home that day.

Unfortunately I’m having to do some work while I’m here but if you were looking for a game towards the end of next week (Thursday/Friday/Saturday) I’d definitely be up for it.

Saturday is the Summer Meeting at Elie but Thursday or Friday would be great.

I had forgotten I had that for my footer.

I was due to ride stages 8, 9, 10 and 11 of this year's Tour.  Because of Covid that was postponed until September but again because of Covid and the difficulties of moving a large group of riders around France and the impossibility of dealing with the situation if one of them tested positive, it has been cancelled for this year.  I have carried my entry through to next year.  The details of the route won't be released until later in the year but, as per this year, I will select a "loop" that involves mountain stages.  This year's loop would have involved over 400 miles of riding in 4 days, with over 14,000 metres of climbing.

You are an animal.

I did a short 15 miler today with 1200 FEET of climbing and was okay with that.  Of course I have golf scheduled later, as well.

To all… I’m in Gullane/North Berwick until first of Oct. If anyone is interested in a game on one (or more 😉) of the Gullane courses I’d be happy to host. Best way to reach me is via email:mailto:md.whitaker@me.com

Either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning would be best for me Mark.  Any preferences on where you’d like to play?
