Good Books Looking For A Good Home
« on: May 12, 2021, 12:12:35 PM »
Friends,

A frequent participant on this website recently offered me a chance to acquire a substantial portion of his golf library at a generous "Friend of GCA" price. In that same spirit, I'd like to give all of you first chance at the duplicates under similar terms. As always, I'd strongly prefer to trade books rather than sell them. But no reasonable offer to trade or sell will be refused - just please consider the cost of shipping in your proposals. I can be texted at 256-239-0143 or emailed at MichaelWolfBearcat@yahoo.com

From the GCA shelf
The Golf Course by Cornish and Whitten (two copies - one in bad shape, one slightly better)
Classic Golf Links by Donald Steele
World Atlas of Golf - modern black cover edition
The World Atlas of Golf Courses by Bob Ferrier
A Walk in the Park by Brad Klein
Missing Links by Daniel Wexler
Dream Golf by Goodwin
The Building Of Sebonack by Brad Klein
European Golf Courses by Malcolm Campbell
Emerald Gems by Lawrence Lambrecht

Lots more to follow on next post

Wolfie you know I’ve got to comment on the fact you have the Barwon Heads history book yet still chose not to play there with us......

My dearest Nigel,

The allure of watching a Renaissance Cup final match proved to be too strong to overcome, even for Barwon Heads. Also, I couldn't muster the courage to ride in a car you were driving on the wrong side of the road for another 3 hours.

Your devoted Friend, Michael

All the books that were traded or sold have now been shipped. The original posts in the thread have been updated to show what's been claimed and which books are still available.

If anyone is curious: the top 3 books requested were The Links, ShoreAcres and Hirono, with more than 25 requests for each. I've enjoyed corresponding with many of you about your collections.

Happy reading,
Michael
