A fire pit at Houston Open OT

I guess the weather got under 80 so they could turn on the fire pit. Thought it was the Winter Olympics. I didn't know Houston ever got cold enough for a fire. Bet they don't use that much.

Saw that and thought the same thing. Not many places I've ever been less in need of a fire pit.

Over here in Austin, things have already gotten quite frosty. Texas generally define winter conditions as when your tootsies get a bit chilly if you wear flip-flops, and we hit that point a couple of weeks ago. Though it's nice at the moment. My kids start demanding hot chocolate when we get down to 60 degrees. As much as they'd like to visit my in-laws in Michigan over the holidays, I'm not sure they're cut out for it.

I spent a couple nights in Houston in the late winter of 2002 and froze my ass off. Maybe didn't help that my motel (yes, with an M) room door had a crack in it you could see right through...ha

Well it did get down to 53 last night, down right frigid, but don't worry about us, its now 63 and heading for 78 and sunny,  Phil will need those sunglasses again...  great time of year here

My first q school finals were at TPC Woodlands in 1989


Last few rounds were freezing.  I actually found a cart cover that I bought to put on my cart (we could use them then)


I know it won’t be popular, but that purchase was a huge help with the brutal pace of place at finals back then.  Sheltered from the cold and wind while waiting was huge


But it was crazy cold and that was late November I believe

Love this. Can't play much longer in Chicago without a cover and at least one heater (we had two in the cart last Sunday in the Brutal Cup at Arrowhead GC in Wheaton -- 38 degrees with 30 mph winds). My question is did you let one of your fellow competitors ride in your covered cart, and if so, how much did you charge them?
