USGA Streaming Service

Just downloaded the USGA streaming channel that's available for free. I use a Roku stick. Its chock full of past USGA championships. Watched the Walker Cup matches at NGLA and Chicago Golf, and the 2002 Womens Open at Prairie Dunes.

Oh nice! Thanks for the heads up!

I noticed the R&A had followed Augusta's lead and uploaded a bunch of former Open highlight videos onto YouTube. Watching Seve's win in 84 at TOC is pretty cool.

How much footage do they have of the 2013 Walker Cup? Youtube only has a few highlight videos each a few minutes long.

The USGA app is pretty amazing. Watched a bit of the 1993 Walker Cup last night. Fun to see the different players. Wow did Interlachen look uninspiring back then. Looks a whole lot better these days.

I'm watching the 1995 US Am final from Newport CC. What a terrific match between Tiger and Buddy.

So you have to already pay for Roku or Fire or Apple TV right?

Its a free App on a Roku stick.

I highly recommend watching the Saturday twitter broadcast of Shane Bacon (Fox Broadcaster)and Max Homa (PGA Tour winner), called Regripped Watch party, back 9 of an event. This weekend they are doing the final round of 2005 Women's US open, they did Phil at Winged Foot last weekend and Tiger -Steve Scott US Am the week before (Max knew Pumpkin Ridge very well and gave a lot of insight even though it was when he was probably a toddler). It was kind of a pain to sync the app broadcast up to the twitter feed. That US Am final is one of my favorite golf events of all time.

Still binge watching many of the past tournaments. Especially like the ones before I got interested in golf course architecture. A few observations

1994 US Amateur - Tiger was really wild, forgot how many amazing recovery shots he it. I remember thinking Kuehne choked it away, but other than a few holes on the back he played really solidly. And how Tiger's tee shot on 17 didn't go in the water I'll never know. Brent Musberger was insufferable as host, kept complaining how long the match was taking and cutting into a horse race, when he wasn't asking Steve Melnik about the Florida Gators. And is Tiger to blame for the slow play era?

1995 Amateur - damn does Newport look cool. Great to see a 43 yr old take 19 yr old Tiger to the final hole.

2005 Walker Cup. First time I remember seeing an American course so open and with native grass everywhere. I had only played tree choker midwestern course to that point. Knew nothing about gca but could tell Chicago Golf was special. JB (still John) Holmes was ungodly slow. I think it even ticked off his playing partner.

2009 Walker Cup at Merion - camera work didn't do the course justice. But much much better for the 2013 US Open

I have downloaded the Roku app.  I wonder why they don't have this content available to stream in a browser on a PC, in the way that you can watch Netflix via apps or through a web browser?  Maybe it is available through their web site but I haven't been able to find it.

I was thinking the same thing myself.  I checked their website as well as their youtube channel and found nothing.
