Marucci interview? I guess you can call it that.....
« on: January 05, 2020, 02:12:04 PM »
Was reading some old interviews and wow this has got to be as bad of an interview as I have read on here for certain. Not much to publish....like trying to interrogate the mafia, they aren't gonna say a thing.

I was at that Walker Cup as a member of the working press. In the interview room, I received a few stares from the captain. If I were captain of a national team, my responses would be equally terse.

RE: Pat's thoughts below...absolutely. Most feature interviews would be email ones. Gives the subject a chance to perfect the words she/he wishes to use.

To me it's pretty clear his answers came over e-mail. If in person I'm sure he would be more wordy.

I think there was a story behind that one...I just don't recall the details.

Like there might have been something more formalized planned but it fell through and was truncated, leading to the short answers.

Sorry I don't have the details, but there's a reason why it ended up like that.
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

The Pete Dye interview isn't much better.

In all fairness, the questions are sent via email and some people type very short answers. If some interviews are done in person and then transcribed it would be better. The Nicklaus interview, Sandy Tatum and a few others were done this way.
