This is sad to hear.  There were a few good holes out there, but definitely nothing great architecturally as you said.  They were very good to junior players 15-20 years ago, always hosting an annual summer event with good conditions.  I would imagine this is not the last one to fall in the Akron area, as there always seemed to be a lot of midlevel clubs around there.
