OT: Red Oaks on Amazon
« on: February 10, 2019, 03:30:01 PM »
I know it is OT but if you have Amazon you should watch Red Oaks - take place at a country club in New Jersey in 1985.  Certainly not as good as Caddyshack but has some really funny stuff.

Binge-watched 4 or 5 episodes last night. Most enjoyable, but definitely sub-Caddyshack - although that, in itself, may be a ringing endorsement!
I must admit to being thoroughly fascinated by the notion of the ‘Country Club’. Historically, we’ve never had them here in Scotland, but I think the idea nearly took off in the boom times. There are a few similar operating models here, but nothing on the scale of the US.

This "Red Oaks" silliness is now my biggest time suck....LOVE IT.  As a former Club Pro, I'd like to see that side explored more, but maybe that will be in season 2!

I watched this with my wife last year. We both really enjoyed it. It focuses very much on the tennis side and little on the golf. Well worth a watch.
