I had the good fortune to make a return trip to Oxford to play a game with Whitty.  I remain impressed by the course in a low key manner.  Its a shame the club is planting rather than removing trees as the signature 3rd hole is all but spoiled by trees.  Other holes are also compromised.  Still, the course is always in good nick when I turn up and I like the more muni vibe of the club.

See the substantially updated tour above.

I lectured at Oxford every year for about four years. I played the course at least once a year during that time frame. I enjoyed the terrain and the ambience of the club. I also liked the scores I would shoot. It gave me a chance to feel like a real golfer.  It doesn't pretend to be more than just a "hometown" club with a loyal following.
