I had the great pleasure (no sarcasm/irony intended) of playing the West course at NB on Saturday with a couple of fellow gca'ers in what were fairly challenging conditions. Because of the conditions we largely had the course to ourselves in the afternoon, ignoring various dogs and there owners, and found it to be in great knick especially the greens.
The one big disappointment was arriving at the 17th green to find a new tee for the 18th. The new tee is sited adjoining the existing tee and further up the slope towards the beach so that bit forms a step where before there was a gradual slope. Now I casn understand that they might want to expand the tee as it probably gets a fair bit of wear and tear due to its limited size but can't help thinking they could have done something more sympathetic. Anyone else seen it ?
