About a dozen guys under par, the leader sniffed 10 under, two rounds of 64 have been posted, and Chris Stroud has a serious chance to take it down.
Kisner ranks 127th on tour in ave driving distance at 288 yards
Stroud ranks 152nd on tour in ave driving distance at 286 yards (just ahead of Kuchar, who almost won the Open).
Counter-intuitively, the wickedly long and punishing course seems to have neutralized most of the bombers. Bubba, Rory, Dustin, Brooks, Rahm, and Day have all imploded.
Matsuyama, Thomas, and Murray are all really long off the tee, but we do have a good mix. And at Erin Hills, we also this phenomenon with Brian Harmon battling down the stretch (who is only 1 spot higher than Kisner in driving distance).
It's hard to be captivated by a course that I don't know very well, but I do like that the leaders won't be able to just put it on cruise control on the final stretch if they are leading.
