I thought the first at Cuscowilla was one of the best opening holes I've played ... heck I think we diagrammed it in The Confidential Guide, or were going to.
The present 2nd and 3rd do slow down play a bit, though I've never played when there were enough other people on the course to be an issue. Starting on the back nine will have some of the same issues: #10 has all the water in play, #11 is a par 3, and the little 12th [which is another of the best holes on the course] with its dicey green can take a while to finish, too.
Was there a rationale for the flip-flop, other than the new clubhouse position is more convenient to either #10 tee or #9 green?
