Just as an alternative to Mallaig the is the ferry from Uig on Skye, landing at Lochmaddy on North Uist.

Heck of a lot more driving from the south, though.

My preference would be the Oban ferry if it is back in service next year to keep the road miles to a minimum. If so, I'd look at  tacking on Shiskine and Machrihanish on the way up.

Then maybe back to Mallaig and play Traigh before the long schlep home...

I was there once and Adam turned on the largest rain spigot I have ever experienced. Has it been fixed  ???  Count me in pending schedules.

Adam,

It's all gone a little quiet on the Askernish front.  Is it likely to happen?

If not I may be able to transfer my "signed pass" to BUDA...   ;)

Clyde, I think Ran might have just visited there...

I was at Askernish last May and whilst I was layered up with every warm item of clothing I had, epic doesn't do it justice.    Enjoy!!

And I was there in August last year and layered up with the same level of protection that I have been using in the depths of of winter this year. The wind was brutal to play into but marvellous to play with.

I will keep an eye on this one. I would love to join in but am due in Harris in August 2018 so two trips may be too much.
