Re: Question for Bandon Veterans

This thread had some helpful travel tips so I wanted to ask a related question.  If my group takes the Denver flight into North Bend and lands at 12:11p, can we make a 2:20p tee time on Pac Dunes if all goes smoothly?  We're planning to ship our clubs and take a shuttle from North Bend to Bandon.

Bill, for your departure, what did you end up doing and did it work out alright?

David,

I ended up switching things around and playing the Preserve that morning instead of a full round at Old Mac. So I can't fully answer that question. But we did end up playing Old Mac twice on the trip anyway so it all worked out. However, I'm glad I switched it because it would have been very very tight to get to the airport on time.

As for your question on your arrival, yes it will work if the plane lands on time in North Bend. Make sure you talk to the shuttle service that you reserved and they should be there waiting for your group. And if you ship your clubs, give the reservation desk a call and let them know what you're doing and they should have your clubs ready for you at PD. I've only been to Bandon once, but in my trip, the logistics while on property were a well oiled machine!
Enjoy your time there. I can't possibly oversell it.

Spot on, Bill.  Shoe is an institution within an institution.  Just watch out for his bunker, mid-fairway, Pacific no. 2.

Word of warning:  Bags come off at North Bend very slowly.  It can take 20-30 minutes for them to reach the conveyor.  I'm told staffing is to blame.  Who knows?  Maybe the steelhead were running.

Thanks, guys.  Your answers and the other comments in this and other Bandon threads are really helpful as we plan a September trip.  Bandon reservations made and flights booked.  Now I just have to get my body and game in shape for 18/36/18+Preserve/36/18.

All small airports operate that way with the smaller planes.  Incoming bags are taken off, then outgoing bags are loaded onto the plane so flight operations can keep moving, before they deliver the incoming bags to the conveyor.

And yes, Shoe is an institution.

Yup, but David said they're shipping the clubs directly.
