Seperating The Finishers at The Recent Majors
« on: April 07, 2016, 07:40:00 PM »
Here they are, the last 10 US Open courses, the last 10 British Open courses, the last 10 PGA courses and the 18th at Augusta National. There’s been so much criticism of the 18th at Augusta on another thread that I thought this might be an interesting way to test where it really sits.

There were two courses played twice for PGA and The Open ...

Split your list into three categories:

1. Special
2. Good
3. Don't Move the Needle for Me

Augusta National

Chambers Bay
Pinehurst #2
Merion East
Olympic Lake

Pebble Beach
Bethpage Black

St. Andrews Old
Royal Liverpool
Muifield
Royal Lytham & St. Annes
Royal St. George’s
Turnberry
Royal Birkdale
Carnoustie

Whistling Straights
Valhalla
The Ocean Course
Atlanta Athletic Club
Hazeltine National
Oakland Hills
Southern Hills

Here's my stab ... what I found was I had Augusta's 18th in the middle of the pack for all of them.
I like it, but don't love it, but I felt that way about a lot of the famous courses in the end.

in no order ...

1. Special

Merion East
Pebble Beach
Oakmont
Winged Foot
Southern Hills

2. Good

Augusta National
Pinehurst #2
Olympic Lake
Bethpage Black
St. Andrews Old
Royal Liverpool

3. Don't Move the Needle for Me
