Just for the record, I would like it to show that I have met Erik and I have also talked to others that have met him and/or worked with him. The opinion I expressed was one I got from my meeting with him and what I have gathered from those that have met him previous to my encounter. He pedals in pseudo-philosophy and does not seek to practice what he preaches. This is the definition of a hypocrite. This is why I have put so much time into writing on this forum to discrediting his actions and movement. As the last thing golf needs is more hypocrisy. This will be my last post on the subject as I feel that there is little value in beating a dead horse. If you want to do a quick google on the guy he has left a nice little trail that will lead you to a similar conclusion to myself. Now on to other threads to talk about golf courses and the study of golf course architecture.

I thought Rand Paul was the only person that had that hair cut where it wasn’t against his will.

 8)   First, no relation to EAL, never met him, just looked at some of his stuff, and luckily I never even knew there was a "Sia"

First thought, every filmmaker type i've known in high school & college was a creative character, big ego, self centered, easy to debate but hard to persuade, on their path regardless, sort of perceived as necessary traits to succeed in such a tough competitive business where everyone is a critic... and it used to cost a lot of $ for film and cameras...

Entertaining, but so are a lot of folks.  Would I play with him?  I don't have to meditate on that!

Opinion on content is subjective and I'm not familiar with his site, but will say that Erik is a kind, humble, and genuine guy. I've played with him, happily would again, and have had only positive interactions with him.

What's wrong with you? Why take a cheap shot at someone who's obviously never had any negative impact in your life?

And for the more golf focussed, is/was dating Alexandra O'laughlin.
Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

Sia seems like a Desmond Muirhead kind of gal. Likely caused a lot of friction.

I try, as best as possible, to separate the message from the messenger...

For those who know, what kinds of golf-related issues was he addressing, and what were his takes on them?

P.S.  Before this thread I'd never heard of him or SIA, not that I understand how that is related...

I'm getting old and out of touch, but I knew who Sia was.

A lot of y'all aren't going to be going backstage at Coachella, that's for sure.

Is that the halfway house at C&C's latest? I heard it's great -- the grilled eel in a tamarind reduction is supposed to be fantastic!!

hahaha, speaking from loads of personal experience, the backstage at Coachella isn't all that great. Still dusty and hot, but you DO get nicer bathrooms  ;D

Back on topic, I've met Erik on quite a few occasions, have played a little golf with him, and he's always been a kind and genuine human. I think he's lost the plot a little in the past year as he's expanded his enterprise. Maybe it's no longer the hot new Instagram to follow or maybe it was the 18 min commercial break in a podcast I listened to or maybe I just don't connect with his latest series of YouTube videos. Whatever the answer is, I just hope he continues trying new things because Erik is a net positive for golf IMO.

As goofy as it is, I still remind myself of Erik's "Rule 17.b - laugh at the bad shots"

Now that's funny.
So much golf to play, so little time....
