This time of year, many of Mike's favorite local courses are in Costa Rica.

THIS IS A GOOB THREAD IF THERE EVER WAS ONE BUT I WILL TAKE A STAB....

I probably play Athens CC more than any other because I live right there and easy to do..

Peachtree is the best in Ga...

Atlanta Country Club is the one to play in ATL and it is rarely mentioned...East Lake is for those looking for the teeshirt

I like playing the Fields because of the people and because it was my first and I'm attached to it...

I walked a new one being built in Ga yesterday that is on a great piece of land and I would expect some of the golf nerds on here  to start in on it soon...........I have high hopes for golf in Ga over the next 10 years.....

I like playing Southern Hills in Hawkinsville because it is the one of the to I have ever built in sand and the locals are a blast and it is on the way to the coast...

If I lived in Brunswick I would play Brunswick CC everyday.

Forest Hills in Augusta at one time was a very very good Ross course...still ok but a new road chopped a lot of it's weiner off...

Goshen Plantation in Augusta is an Ellis Maples that would be noted in if the maintenance was better...really good

Chastain Park in ATL, a muni is a Chandler Egan and good but too crowded...and it's a muni

I could name more but then someone might show up and a local might cut them or shoot them and I would hate that...

As long as you don't take it as self promotion here they are in specific order:
CateecheeLongshadow(closed)
The Fields
Lane Creek
Southern Hills
Gold Creek (Closed)
Wolf Creek
Heritage

Love Longshadow.  Will it ever live again?

The Fields is just fun.

I have a 50+ year connection with Athens CC and love it dearly.

No love for Cateechee?   I thought it was outstanding.

Cateechee was our favorite from a golf trip several years ago, very good course.

How could we have left out Cateechee? It is well worth a visit.

Ditto Wolf Creek. It is the best course near downtown ATL.  Just around the corner from the airport.
