A fun course to play and always in good condition. The hill top views were great.  Haven't been there in a number of years but it always seemed to be busy. KBM got the most out of this piece of land given the constraints of a residential development.

179 acres for less than 10,000 an acre?  Is the land worth less because it has a golf course and an 8,000 sq ft clubhouse?

Does 'Player Friendly' mean a dumbing-down of the design?

From the article:

Morgan Hill's new owners plan to soften some of those edges to generate more comfortable play and faster rounds. From tee-time changes to GPS cart systems to a gentling of the course, Morgan Hill is undergoing changes to make it more "player friendly."

"We definitely did our homework, and we knew we were buying a course where those were the two concerns: It's too hard and takes too long to play," said Rosann Lapio, Morgan Hill's new general manager. "We're definitely putting our all effort into fixing both of those."

To help cut 30 minutes off those rounds, Mallory stretched tee times to 10-minute intervals. Next month, Morgan Hill will introduce GPS tracking systems on carts to help both players and course staff manage traffic.

Last year, Mallory's staff filled in bunkers on several holes to smooth playability. Future plans include softening of the false fronts on several greens and some tree removal, notably on the tee at No. 5.
